Hi there! I would like to apply a template to an existing document. Is there a way that I can do this without having to create a new file? The page sizes and everything are the same, but there are some paragraph styles that I need to change.

There is no Apply Template command (the closest is syncing chapters in a book).
You can import various formatting controls from one document to another. For example, you can open up a document and then import paragraphs styles from another file into that one, using Load Paragraph Styles from the Paragraph styles panel menu. Work on a copy in case you mess up the mapping the first time around.
